When you use Favorite Thing, we collect the following information:
- Phone number — used for account authentication via SMS verification
- Profile information — your name and optional profile photo
- Posts and photos — the photos, captions, and ratings you share in groups
- Location data — only when you voluntarily add a location to a post (we never track your location in the background)
- Usage analytics — basic app usage data such as pages viewed and features used, to help us improve the experience
🔧 How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the Favorite Thing app experience
- Show your posts to members of groups you belong to
- Calculate your activity score based on your engagement
- Send you notifications about activity relevant to you (likes, comments, new posts)
- Improve the app and fix bugs
🤝 Data Sharing
Your privacy matters to us. Here's what we don't do:
- We do NOT sell your data to third parties
- We do NOT use your data for advertising
- We do NOT share your personal information with marketers
Your photos and data are stored securely on Supabase, our cloud infrastructure provider. Your data may be processed by our hosting provider (Railway) to serve the app.
🗄️ Data Retention
Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile screen in the app.
When you delete your account, we permanently remove your profile information, posts, photos, and activity data.
👶 Children's Privacy
Favorite Thing is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
